By the house we turned right and followed the old railway route until the Burwell Newmarket road. Turned right following the road for a short distance then bypassed the railway bridge before rejoining the road. After passing Isaacson Road turned left past the allotments to Mill Lane then left to the High Street crossing over at St Marys Church past the Montessori School and on to Spring Close following the path to the Woodland Trusts Priory Woods. After about 1 km we took the footpath on the right just after the bungalow and headed round the back of Reach until we got to Reach Lode then followed this as far as Hurdle Hall. After passing Breed Fen Drove on our left and the car park on our right we turned right along the footpath that passes behind Wicken Mill where we were treated to a very informative guided tour by one of the volunteers working at the mill.
